About the event

Foraging is fantastic fun—health and nutrition can as easily be found outside of your door as along any hiking path. “Winter Foraging Southern California” covers the primary threats to personal health; the techniques used to protect ecological health; and the most commonly found edible greens, fruits, flowers, seeds, roots and sources of protein.


Guest speaker Doug Kent has been working in California’s landscapes for over 40 years and teaching the techniques of foraging and wildcrafting at Cal Poly Pomona for over 11 years. Foraging must be done with knowledge and consideration. Attend this seminar and then get outside and enjoy nature’s bounty.


This class will start at the farmer's market at the seating area near the market informaiton booth. After a 20-30 minute talk, we will venture outside the farmer's market into the local urban environment on a guided walk with out guest speaker to see first hand the edible…
